If you have been a long term reader of this blog, you know Mike dabbles in photography. I remember a couple of summers ago, I had spent weeks at the Lavender Apple Farm snapping photos of my 1 year old. Well Mike saunters over and snaps one photo and it was the best picture I got of my son all summer!
I thought it would be fun to share a vintage photo of Mike's every Friday this month.
Have a great weekend!
Our sweet granddaughter and her friends came up to visit the Lavender Farm right before the harvest. The weeks before harvest are a wonderful time to come take photos in the lavender. The blooms and big and purple, and just begging to be photographed. This year we taught our visitors how to make floral crowns, and they made all of the photos really special.
If you want to come take photos in our lavender next year, please call us in advance to book a session. For now, our lavender is sleeping for fall and winter, but we still have plenty of dried bundles you can purchase. www.lavenderapple.com
As I've mentioned on this blog before, Mike Nelson is a wonderful photographer. There is lots of beautiful country side up here at the Lavender Apple, and he just seems to capture it beautifully.
Well, maybe not all of it is so beautiful.... but its interesting none the less!
Lets all just give a quick little prayer of thanks for the advances in modern day homes, especially in the area of restrooms.
As you know, we started an instagram account over at the Lavender Apple this year. (Search for us on instagram at the.lavender.apple) We hosted a giveaway here yesterday and were so pleased to see all of the entries even though we are a relatively new account. We really do appreciate all of our loyal customers who support local family owned businesses. We really wouldn't be here today without all of your wonderful support. Our contest winner was Cara Dee Cecil of Cara Dee Photography. Congratulations!
After our winner was drawn, I looked at her account and wow, she knocked my socks off! She is a photographer, and her wedding photography especially wowed me. Here are a few photos she has shared on Pinterest. You can find her here and here.
Having hosted a few weddings of our own on our lavender farm, we understand how beautiful but tough it can be to throw a wedding together in such a rustic setting. Props to Cara for doing such a wonderful job! Please contact us to select your prize!
